Some maths worksheets to practise converting units from cm to m and m to cm.
Why can some children find this confusing?
Because metres are larger than centimetres, BUT to get from metres to centimetres you must multiply. So a child imagines centimetres as being smaller than a metre, but then they must multiply by 100 which feels bigger. It’s difficult to explain, so I hope you understand what I mean!
It helps to think in terms of ‘more than’ and ‘less than’. There are more cm so multiply because this will give you more.
